Album Review
By David McKinley
In a constantly changing musical landscape, where the CD has died and downloads have not yet replaced slumping sales, bands have been forced to get creative in order to move
their product.
What started with the pay-what-you-like downloads of "In Rainbows," by Radiohead has now been far surpassed by Big Head Todd and the Monsters new recording "All the Love You Need," a product which the band mails directly to fans, at no cost.
To date the group has given away more than 500,000 copies of the product, an album that is far from lacking in quality content, despite the lack of price tag.
On "All the Love You Need," Todd Park Mohr and company seamlessly blend a variety of musical styles with Park Mohr's distinctive guitar virtuousity.
These styles include a free-flowing hip-hop vibe on "Ever Since Ya Pulled Me Under" and a punk influence on tracks like "Beautiful Rain."
The kaleidoscope of genre defying variety, coupled with Park Mohr's poetic lyrical styling, makes "All the Love You Need" accessible to virtually any audience.
