Ever longed to be a roadie for Boulder's Big Head Todd and the Monsters? Fantasized about bringing lead singer Todd Park Mohr his harmonica on stage at Red Rocks? Dreamed of sitting stage-side on a couch swigging beer during the concert?
If the price is right, your wish can be granted by bidding in an online auction going on till 5 p.m. Thursday at Ticketmaster.com. The five packages (there's also a pre-show meet-and-greet and an invite to the sound check with photo op) for the June 2 Red Rocks concert are up for grabs to the highest bidder. And they all come with VIP, primo seats in rows 2 through 10.
The band wanted to give fans something different than just good seats, which led to the idea to auction off not only a chance to meet the band, but quirky perks like the couches and harmonica.
"The main thing is just coming up with things that can't be sold on eBay, that kind of exclusive experience. I think it's a great idea," said singer/guitarist Mohr.
He still remembers the first time he got backstage as a fan around 1990, when he met blues legend Albert Collins. "It was pretty cool," Mohr said. "All he wanted to talk about was his motorcycles. He had three Harley-Davidsons."
