Glasgow: Cops 'n' Monsters

Boulder's favorite band, Big Head Todd and the Monsters, gave a whole new meaning to the term "running from the Police" when they moved their Red Rocks show to avoid conflicting with the reunited '80s rockers' first of two shows in Denver.
Big Head Todd had confirmed a June 9 date at the Morrison amphitheater, but moved that up to June 2 when the Police show at the Pepsi Center was first announced.
"As soon as the Police date came up, we moved as far as we could away from it," Jeff Wareing, the band's tour manager and production manager, writes in an e-mail. "We all felt that with the enormity of that tour, and the Denver shows, that we faced the possibility of being overshadowed with respect to press, advertising, and the like. And yes, we thought we may suffer with ticket sales. Tough decision for hardcore BHTM fans, but this could be a once-in-a-lifetime chance to see the Police. Definitely a crossover in the fan base.
"Plus, we want to see the Police!!!"
Wareing is hopeful Big Head Todd can still sell out the Red Rocks show, however, especially since some of the ticket sales will raise funds for the Children's Hospital Autism Program.
Whether you buy tickets through Ticketmaster or the band's fan club, you have the option to donate $10 per ticket to the program; the band also has set up several auctions around the June 2 show, including "stage-side" and VIP seats, a meet-and-greet with band members, a chance to be a crew member for a day, "onstage harmonica delivery" and more.
