Big Head Todd and the Monsters
with the Jars

We've always called Colorado home," says Todd Park Mohr, leader of Big Head Todd and the Monsters. "We've had the good fortune of being able to stay in Colorado and have a successful career in music. It's one of the most beautiful places in the country."

It's one of the many things Mohr says he and his bandmates are thankful for after 20 years as a band.

In recent years, Big Head Todd have forgone the traditional route of releasing albums and touring to support them. Instead, they've pretty much stayed on the road and have delivered their music directly to their fans through their podcasts.

"I like a lot of things about [the format]," says Mohr. "People get it right away. It's a great way to keep in touch with our fans. It allows me to be writing and releasing music all the time."

This summer, though, Big Head Todd will be releasing a proper full-length.

As for the Fox anniversary show, Mohr says the band has a few surprises planned, but he's not telling. He will reveal that the Fox is one of his favorite places to play in the world.

"We've played there many times over the years," he says. "I love going to see shows there. It's just a great sounding, intimate room. It's that size room that I think is the funnest to play as a musician."
